Deputy Clerk Opening Announced

The City of Monticello, Indiana is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team for the position of Deputy Clerk. This position requires a versatile individual who can assist the Clerk Treasurer's office in managing administrative, financial, and regulatory duties to ensure effective governance and service delivery.

This position is responsible for overseeing the city's financial activities, including budget development, expenditure monitoring, revenue collection, and financial reporting. Handle accounts payable/receivable, ensure compliance with financial regulations, resolutions, contracts, record keeping, and other official documents. Ensure proper filing and maintenance of all records in compliance with City and State policy and procedures. Perform all other duties as assigned.

To properly perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, have proficiency in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, accounting software) and a willingness to learn new technologies. Previous experience in municipal administration, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
