View the Back Home Again in White County FlyerThe lack of available workers has plagued businesses throughout the US for the past several years, and it appears that we will continue to face this issue locally well into 2022. To assist our businesses and organizations that deal with this problem daily, there is work underway to put together an event that hopefully will provide employers with a program to identify potential employees entering the workforce upon graduation from high school.
The White County Economic Development Organization, along with Indian Trails Career Cooperative, and representatives from our four White County High Schools are planning a program in April that will bring seniors and selective juniors together with key businesses/organizations that will allow these groups (students and employers) to meet face-to-face and learn of the vast opportunities that exist in White County. And, to that end, we are calling the event “Back Home Again in White County”.
The date we have selected for this event is Thursday, April 14th, and will be held at the Brandywine Convention Center in Monticello. Our “committee” is still outlining the logistics surrounding this event, but the purpose of this email is to determine if this is something that you wish to have your business/organization participate in. If so, please mark your calendar as a “save the date” and RSVP your intentions to Debbie Conover at

It is anticipated that we could have as many as 350-400 seniors and selective juniors from Twin Lakes, Frontier, North White and Tri County high schools attend and meet directly with your representatives. We hope to have between 50-75 organizations participate. This is a tremendous opportunity to “tell your story” as to why the students should remain and work in White County and make decent wages at your place of employment. Your commitment is to only spend a day interacting with our workforce of tomorrow, and we will even feed your team lunch! Can’t beat that!
