The City of Monticello and the Mayor’s Advisory Council for the ADA Is proud to once again support Disability Awareness Month and plans are well underway.
As always the City of Monticello is committed to being an accessible, responsive, community that welcomes and includes everyone. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has become a useful tool in assuring that access changes are made and policies are developed to give people with all kinds of disabilities an equal opportunity to participate and benefit from community programs and activities.
Listed below are our initial Schedule of Events. All times are EST (Indianapolis/GMT -5)
We offer sponsorships for every budget and hope, once again, to count on your support. All donations are gratefully accepted, acknowledged, and sincerely appreciated. Donate to Our continuing projects throughout the year to make our city more Accessible.

- Saturday, March 1: Art and Banner displays go up on Main Street for the month.
- Saturday, March 1: 4-8pm Freedom Event at Burnettsville Beehive
- Wednesday, March 5 & March 12: Art will be on display at the Monticello City Hall West Bays from 1-4pm. Please note: Media Class videoed art will be available on school & city website or by appointment, 574-583-4568.
- Wednesday, March 5: 10am Story Hour - featuring Celebrity Reader at MUTPL (Temporary location on North Main St.)
- Wednesday, March 12: 5:30pm - Art Awards Night at the Twin Lakes High School Auxiliary Gym.
- Thursday, March 13: 4:30pm - Setup for the Social Services Fair at the Twin Lakes High School Auxiliary Gym
- Thursday, March 13: 5:00pm Wheel Chair Basketball & Social Services Fair at Twin Lakes High School Auxiliary Gym - Door 9 on west side of building from side parking lot behind home bleachers at football field. FREE WILL DONATION
- 5:00-7:00pm - Doors Open for the Social Services and Transition Fair
- 6:00pm - Lafayette Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Demonstration
- 6:20pm - City Department Tournament and Annual Guns Vs. Hoses
- 6:40pm - Monticello Combined Game — Red vs. White
- 7:00pm - Aktion Club members recognized.
- 7:10pm - Half-time Activities.Please visit our concession stand and social services booths
- 7:20pm - City Department Tournament Championship
- Wednesday, March 19: 10am Story Hour - featuring Celebrity Reader at MUTPL (Temporary location on North Main St.)
- Friday, March 21: 1-3pm White Oak Health Campus - Dementia Experience. Walk a Mile In My Shoes Day. Call 574-583-0324 to schedule an appointment in advance at the White Oaks Health Campus
