Monticello City Council
The Monticello City Council is comprised of five members representing four wards and one council at-large position. Members of the City Council are part-time elected officials who serve four-year terms. As a legislative body, the Council exercises many of the powers given cities through the passage of ordinances and money appropriation. The council has the authority to form committees to assist them in completion of city projects. Council meets the first and third Mondays of the month in the Common Council Room located in the Municipal Center. Council meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and citizen participation is welcomed.
