Deer Nuisance Ordinance Information

In response to increased incidents of property damage, safety concerns, and public health risks caused by an overpopulation of deer within city limits, the Common Council of the City of Monticello has passed Ordinance No. 2025-10, establishing officially designated Deer Nuisance Zones and permitting limited, regulated archery deer hunting within these areas.

Trick or Treat Announced for Nov. 1st from 5-8pm

Saturday, November 1st

  • Trick or Treat Hours from 5:00pm-8:00pm
    • Only homes with porch lights on
    • Parental guidance encouraged.
  • Downtown Trunk or Treat is a co-sponsored event by S.O.M.A. (Streets of Monticello Association), Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, the Indiana Mail Street Initiative, I.U. Health and the City of Monticello.  Information about Trunk or Treat will be provided at a later date.  Please return to this area/page for updates.
